Rise of the Spears

A Sons of Iberia Prequel

Reviews

A fearsome new enemy invades the ancient lands of Iberia. An unblooded warrior sees his clan vanquished. A mother must kill to save her son.

With the death cries of his fellow villagers still ringing in his ears, Dubgetious is thrown into the world of foreign mercenaries fighting for Carthage.

Lyda, an accomplished warrior, vows to find her son and free him. With her small band of veteran Bastetani fighters, she infiltrates the ranks of Hamilcar’s army.

Dubgetious forges an unlikely friendship while Lyda’s plan leads to blood and chaos.

When an opportunity to defeat and kill Hamilcar arises, both Dubgetious and Lyda must choose between honor and kin.

Action-packed read. Added context to the later books. Presents the motivations of tribes as Carthage moves into Iberia.

A great introduction to, what hopefully will be a new favourite. The characters develop well and quite believably. Bloody, intriguing and historically sound. Good work.

Another good book from this author. A real page-turner. Hard to put down once started as were the previous books. Would recommend.

The Runeovex Secret

They hunt the Runeovex Secret and are prepared to kill anyone to gain it.

The dreaded Celt overwhelms an Ilerget village in a night of violence, and Cullha, the son of a coward, must risk his life for those who despise him.

On a journey fraught with danger, Cullha and a small band of survivors flee across the wild lands of Iberia. Along the way, they meet a weaponsmith with a secret that can save their tribe from destruction. First, they must survive and reach their king.

This is a tale of men and women forced to battle nature, marauders and their own shortcomings. What secret can save the Ilerget from the warlike Celt? Can Cullha gain the trust of his clan? Which suitor will Elhana choose?

Reviews

Interesting time period, well-written fiction to include how important new discoveries in weapon making were at the time. Waiting for more from your pen.

A gripping read, couldn't put it down. I read the whole book in two sittings, battles, romance and honour aplenty. Bring on the next one!

Another thrilling trip back through time to The Iberian Peninsular, where a warrior is not born he is made.
